STUDIO MAR is an internationally positioned yet locally engaged unique firm based in Encinitas (California) and Rome (Italy), since 2014.
We provide architectural and design services for a purposefully limited number of projects, with the primary focus of providing each of our Clients with dedicated, intensive input and energy throughout the entire architectural process.
The practice is based on the belief that "the architecture of a place is more important than the architecture of a time”. What defines the architecture is the Client’s vision, articulated in the surrounding environment and climate; not the style of the era, the theory of the time nor the ego of the Architect.
Matteo Raspagni is an italian architect licensed with the “Order of Architects of Rome” (IT) since 2008.
Matteo is responsible for every step of the architecture cycle, from conceiving the idea to finalizing all construction details through every process of design, planning and building. Favoring research and innovation, his ability to apply his design skills through all project phases, resolve complex technical issues and manage project teams, all contribute to the overall success of the project.
Matteo began his career studying and working with renowned architectural offices in Europe such as Aires Mateus in Lisbon(PT), and Carlos Ferrater in Barcelona(ESP), before moving to Encinitas in 2014 where he started his own firm: STUDIO MAR.
Since then Matteo has participated in and completed countless projects in Southern California, from small scale art installations to large scale urban planning. Even though nowadays his work is focused in the Southern California area, Matteo has lived and experienced a wide range of working contexts abroad such as Paris (FR), Rome (IT), Lisbon (PT), Pavones (CR), Barcelona (ESP), Sydney (AU), Luanda (AN)..
